Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to Solo Balkan, part of the S-I BIG D.O.O SLOVENIA group ("Solo Balkan", "we", or "the operator"). This policy explains what personal data we collect through solobalkan.com, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can exercise your rights. It is written in line with the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981 and its regulations, and with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for visitors in the EU. Using the site and submitting the contact form constitute acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the site or submit information.
Who is responsible for your data (data controller)
The data controller ("the operator") is Solo Balkan, part of the S-I BIG D.O.O SLOVENIA group. Our office in Slovenia: Trubarjeva ulica, Celje, Slovenia. Our office in Israel: Hevron 38, Pardes Hanna-Karkur. For any privacy question, request, or inquiry, contact us at info@solobalkan.com or on +972-3-722-0434.
What data we collect
Information you provide voluntarily in the contact form: full name, email address, phone number, requested travel dates, number of days, number and ages of children, and the content of your message. When you use the site, limited technical data is also collected automatically (such as IP address, browser type, and access times) and kept in server logs for security, operation, and abuse prevention. We also store essential cookies (your site language and consent choices), as described in the Cookie Policy. We do not collect data for analytics or advertising.
Are you required to provide data
Providing your data depends on your will and consent, and you are not legally obligated to provide it. However, without the required contact-form details (name and a way to reach you), we cannot respond to your inquiry or provide the requested service. The purposes for which the data is requested and the parties it may be shared with are set out in this policy.
How we use your data
We use your data to respond to your inquiry and contact you, to prepare quotes and plan your holiday, to deliver and manage the services you requested, to improve the site and service, to send marketing content only if you opted in, and to meet legal obligations that apply to us.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
For visitors in the EU, the legal basis for processing is one or more of the following: your consent (for example, for marketing email or loading external content), the need to take steps at your request and to perform our engagement (answering your inquiry and preparing a quote), our legitimate interest in running and promoting our business and securing the site, and compliance with a legal obligation. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before then.
Marketing communications
We send updates and marketing content by email only after you give explicit consent in the form (ticking the consent box), in line with Section 30A of the Israeli Communications Law (Telecommunications and Broadcasting), 5742-1982. You can withdraw consent at any time, free of charge, using the unsubscribe link in every message, or by writing to info@solobalkan.com.
Cookies
By default the site uses only essential cookies, and it loads third-party content (such as YouTube videos) only after you consent. For full details see our Cookie Policy. You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell or rent your data. We use service providers (data processors) to operate the site and send email, including our hosting and email provider Hostinger, which process data on our behalf and under our instructions. To deliver the service you requested, we pass on only the data needed to relevant travel suppliers (hotels, transport, guides, and local providers). We may also disclose data where required by law, by a competent authority, or to protect our rights.
AI assistant
The site includes an AI-powered assistant that answers questions and helps you use the site. When you type a message to the assistant, its content is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing and to generate a reply, subject to that provider's privacy policy and terms. Please avoid sharing sensitive information (such as ID numbers, payment details, or passwords) in the chat. Conversations may be stored locally in your browser for convenience and can be cleared at any time via the "Clear conversation" button. For binding details, prices and bookings, please contact the Solo Balkan team.
International transfers
Solo Balkan operates from Slovenia (EU), and your data may be processed and stored on servers in the EU, in Israel, or in other countries where our service providers operate. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we apply appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or transfers to countries recognized as providing an adequate level of protection), in accordance with applicable law.
Data security
We apply reasonable organizational and technical security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted or stored.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as needed for the purposes it was collected for. As a rule, inquiry details that do not lead to an engagement are kept for up to 24 months from the last contact, and data related to bookings and transactions is kept for the period required by tax and accounting law (usually up to 7 years). After that period we delete the data or make it anonymous.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, visitors in the EU have the rights of access, rectification, erasure ("the right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. Under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law you have the right to review the data held about you, to request its correction or deletion, and to be removed from the marketing database. To exercise any right, contact info@solobalkan.com; we will respond within a reasonable time and as required by law, and we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Lodging a complaint
If you believe our processing infringes your rights, we would welcome the chance to resolve it, so please contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint: in Israel with the Privacy Protection Authority (gov.il), and in the EU with your local supervisory authority; in Slovenia this is the Information Commissioner (Informacijski pooblaščenec).
Automated decision-making and profiling
We do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you, and we do not profile visitors.
Links to external sites
The site may contain links to third-party sites and services (for example maps, social networks, or travel suppliers). This policy does not apply to those sites, and we recommend reviewing their own privacy policies.
Children's privacy
The site is not intended for children, and the contact form is meant to be completed by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without the consent of a responsible adult. If we learn that such data has been collected, we will act to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with its update date and will govern from then on. Last updated: September 2026.
